I Become an Idol! (アイドル始めちゃいました!, Aidoru Hajimechaimashita!) is the 1st episode of PriPara, and first aired on 05-07-14.

Plot

Laala Manaka, a fifth grader is given a chance to live out her dream of becoming an idol after going to Prism Stone to find the owner of the PriTicket bag she found.

Summary

One morning Laala happens to spot a performance by her favorite idol group known as "Saints", a group that gave their final performance three years ago. She is excited until her mother scolds her and tells her to sit down and eat breakfast. They soon get into an argument before she leaves to meet with her friend, who has left some time earlier then her and she just barely manages to catch up to.

They resume heading to school while discussing the Saints special that was on PriPara TV that morning. They discuss how at that one special moment every girl will find her own PriPara Ticket and is invited to join the PriPara world, a paradise for all aspiring idols. Nao goes on to reveal that she has received her own PriPara ticket, much to Laala's surprise. She is happy for her, but rather depressed that she has yet to get one for herself.

Once everyone gets to school, the headmistress reveals that they will be checking for any and all possible PriPara tickets the students may have. This is because PriPara is not expected or allowed of such young school students. Laala is concerned for Nao's PriPara ticket, but Nao assures her that she hid it in a secret pocket in the back of her collar, so surely they wont even notice it since her hair covers her collar anyway. Using a strange device she is able to confiscate every single PriPara ticket, even Nao's. She even demands that the girls who left theirs at home should bring them to her desk the next day too.

As they head to music class, Laala and Nao try to determine just why such young students aren't allowed to have PriPara tickets. But they are unable to get a good enough theory, causing Nao to express sadness in having debuted before attending that school, like Sophie did. Laala is surprised to see that Nao really wants to become an idol, then admits that she prefers to watch them. It's then she realizes she left her recorder back in their classroom and tells Nao to go on without her so that she can run back to get it.

As Laala runs she is stopped by the Head Disciplinarian, Minami. She scolds Laala for running in the hallways, though Laala doesn't see the harm since it's outside anyway. So she recieves her ninety-six transgression paper.

Eventually a worn out, tired Laala arrives home. She helps a customer with their order by informing her parents of it and asks if she may have gotten a PriPara ticket while away from home. Her mother does not recall anything like that though, then asks Laala to run out and get them some tomato since they are running low. While against it, Laala is forced to go anyway.

She runs into town and spots a PriTicket bag. She looks inside to find a bunch of tickets and starts to call for Mirei in hopes of getting ahold of her. Nobody responds though and Laala realizes that she needs to get the tomato, but she should find Mirei first and heads to the Prism Stone building, where the entrance to PriPara is located.

She steps inside and is greeted by someone. She explains what happened and why she is there, and the woman mentions that Mirei had gone in to PriPara a while earlier. She then pulls Laala to the gate and Laala explains that she hasn't received a ticket yet. But just then, one magically floats out of nowhere and to the top of her head.

Laala is beyond happy, but she isn't allowed to do such things. However, the woman convinces her to go in to deliver the bag because Mirei had a special audition that day and no items can be used without the bag. Laala feels bad after hearing this and offers to take it to Mirei. The woman observes the curious Laala before deciding to set Twinkle Ribbon as her stage outfit brand. She also suggests that Laala get a performance in too while there and leads her to the scanner.

Laala does as told and transforms into the Cutie Ribbon coord. She is surprised to see her new, older appearance in the PriPara world and grows very excited. The woman approaches and explains that with the right items, any girl can really change. Laala is surprised to see her, so the woman explains she looks like the woman in Prism Stone. She wishes Laala a nice visit while in the PriPara world before she takes off.

As she observes everything Laala is amazed by the sights. She then begins to run through the street while calling for Mirei. But nobody seems to respond.

Elsewhere, Mirei is yelling at Kuma for signing her up for a unit audition. She is very angry and threatens to break contract with him if he doesn't go out and fix it by finding her a partner. At first he doesn't take her seriously, but soon takes off in search. Kuma tries to get someone to pay him attention and is smacked by Laala when she accidentally swings the bag in his direction. She is surprised by the talking plushy, but he reveals himself to be a mascot, Mr. Kuma.  She apologizes and explains how she is new to PriPara and has no idea of what to do or where to go.

In all of the commotion, Mirei approaches to see what is going on. Laala is relieved to find that she has found Mirei and expresses joy in having found her. She explains how she found Mirei's bag and hands it back to her. Mirei is very happy that Laala returned it, but she mentions that she needs a partner for her pair audition. She asks Laala to team up with her, but Laala tries to get out of it by telling her that she's never performed or dance before. She likes PriPara though, so Mirei is sure that will be enough. While still hesitant, Laala soon agrees and the girls exchange names.

They head to PriPara TV, where it is announced that the registration for the Fresh idol Live will be closing soon. The girls manage to make it in time and as they head into another room, it is announced that Entry number six, Pretty App will be performing. The girls stand and watch from the many screens before them.

Now Laala is growing nervous again and she attempts to leave. Mirei asks Laala if she knows any of the Saints songs, then asks her to sing. Laala makes an attempt but is too quiet, causing Mirei to scold her since sh was normally loud before. She then pulls on her cheeks and encourages Laala to give it her all because any girl is allowed to perform and sing as boldly, and loudly as she wants. This deeply connects with Laala and they are given the signal to head onto stage for their turn. After gaining their microphones they appear on stage. Laala is shocked, but she decides to give it her all and begins to sing with Mirei. Everyone is instantly taken in by Laala's singing and soon they use Making Drama to cause Cyalume Change.

After the performance the girls return outside. They are cheered for and earn new PriTicket's. The performance was recorded on it and they exchange their friend tickets. Mirei tells Laala that they should perform together again and she is also give a PriTicket Bag and other items. However, she suddenly recalls that she has to grab the tomato's yet and takes off.

After she leaves it is revealed that Mirei planned this entire thing. She dropped her bag on purpose in order to find the perfect partner, since she was sure whoever returned it was sure to perform with her. Kuma is surprised by this and he compliments Mirei, then goes on to say how she is slipping out of her cutesy, childish character. He then expresses the desire to make Laala a top idol because he is sure she possesses the legendary Prism Voice.
